There are 2 distances to choose from: Marathon and Half Marathon
Both events follow the same route, however the start will be in different locations but the finish will be in the same location.
Marathon: The Start location is Glenarm, the finish location is Glenarm, the route will follow the waymarked trail from Glenarm all the way to Shanes Hill 13 miles away where you will turn around and follow the same route back.
Half Marathon: The start location is Shanes hill and the finish location will be Glenarm. Participants will be bused from Glenarm to the start location.
You will be provided with a GPX of the complete route for both the Full and the Half, we recommend everyone to use a GPS device either handheld device or watch. as there will be NO additional signage on the route other than the signs to mark the waymarked trail.
Both events are self-sufficient events, you therefore must be confident that you can support yourself fully for a distance of at least 13 miles. There will only be 1 water station along the route this will be a refill station only and will be located at the turn around point for the Marathon runners.
Participants in both events will be required to carry a specific list of essential kit items in order to take part. These items will be checked at registration and may be checked along the route failure to provide these items will mean you cannot take part, if you are checked on route and you do not have any of the items you will be Disqualified. these items are for your safety as the weather can change very quickly.
Essential Kit: Mobile phone, whistle, foil blanket, food and water to get you through 13 miles, waterproof jacket, hat and gloves.
