MIDNIGHT MARATHON
&
​HALF MARATHON

NORTHERN IRELAND'S FIRST MIDNIGHT MARATHON
WAS HOSTED BY US ON THE 1ST FEBRUARY 2020 

OUR NEXT EVENT DATE WILL BE ANNOUNCED AS SOON AS WE HAVE PERMISSION AND THE ALL CLEAR FROM THE NORTHERN IRELAND EXECUTIVE REGARDING COVID-19

 THE DATE OF MIDNIGHT SATURDAY 25TH JULY 2020
​WILL BE THE CONFIRMED DATE.


Our NEXT event starts at Midnight on Saturday night 25TH July 2020 and runs through into Sunday morning. The event starts and finishes at Carrickfergus Castle and consists of a
Full Marathon Run, a Half Marathon Run and a Half Marathon Walk.
Competitors with dogs are very welcome to take part in the event.

As the event starts at Midnight there are a few things that you MUST carry as part of your mandatory kit - without these you will not be allowed to participate: 
1 : A suitable head torch 2 : A Hi viz vest 3 : A Foil blanket in case of emergency 4 : Water and food - enough to get you through the duration of your chosen distance 5: Fully charged mobile phone


Other items we would recommend  are : a warm hat, gloves, suitable waterproof jacket/trousers, bandana, long sleeve shirt and a full change of clothes for the finish.

PLEASE READ BEFORE ENTERING THE JULY EVENT
In order to adhere to the requirements of public health guidelines the following guidelines will help us to help you to achieve your running goals.
The current guidelines allow groups of 30 people to run together. Those taking part in the MIDNIGHT MARATHON AND HALF MARATHON must follow these rules with no exceptions:
There will be a maximum number of entries for each event, and there will be staggered starts. The first start will be at 00.00 midnight and then 15 minute intervals thereafter, as follows:
Start -MARATHON 00:00
Start -MARATHON 00:15
Start-HALF MARATHON 00:30
Start- HALF MARATHON 00:45
This is to facilitate the 2mtr rule while running and to avoid large groups together on the course – GROUPS WILL HAVE A MAXIMUM OF 30 RUNNERS.
YOU WILL BE ALLOCATED YOUR NUMBER WHEN YOU REGISTER FOR YOUR EVENT – NUMBERS WILL BE ALLOCATED AS YOU REGISTER, SO IN ESSENCE, ON A FIRST COME, FIRST SERVED BASIS. IE GROUP 1: NUMBERS 1-30, GROUP 2: NUMBERS 31-60 ETC. ONCE YOU HAVE RECEIVED YOUR NUMBER YOU CANNOT CHANGE IT/ SWOP IT. Groups will be confirmed prior to the event.
IF YOU TRY AND START IN A DIFFERENT GROUP THAN YOU HAVE BEEN ALLCOTED YOU WILL ASKED TO MOVE TO THE CORRECT GROUP. ALL NUMBERS WILL BE CHECKED BEFORE THE START OF EACH GROUP IF YOU DO NOT DO SO YOU WILL NOT BE ALLOWED TO TAKE PART.
We ask that you only come to the start line when you are due to run ie: if your start time is 00:00 then you need to be at the start 10 mins before the start 23:50, if you are not there on time to start you will NOT be allowed to continue in the next start: if your start time is 00:15 you must stay in your car and only come to the start 00:05 once the previous wave has gone and so one.
We ask you to maintain the 2mtr rule while you are running,
Social distancing rules will apply at the Finish and at the Start and as the rules are changing daily we will be guided by the rules in place at the time of the event and we ask everyone to respect the measures that we may have to put in place. We will advise you all prior to the event about the finish line, medal presentation, refreshments etc, again, all in line with health advice at the time of the event.
The event will take place with approval from the parades commission should the event not be allowed to take place we will offer you a full refund or deferral to the next available date we set for the same event or we will allow you to defer to another event date of your choice to the same value.
The Midnight Marathon and Half Marathon will follow a road book which contains step by step instructions on how to navigate the route, you do not need any special skills or the ability to read a map to take part, there will be NO signage or direction arrows or marshals around the course. And is a self-sufficient event with mandatory kit required you must have the following kit: enough food and water for the entire event, a head torch, waterproof jacket and fully charged mobile phone. Thee will be no aid stations.
Your entry into the event constitutes your acceptance of all of the rules and regulations set in place by We Run Wild Ni. The rules and regulations maybe subject to change at any time.
